Coming Handbell Events

AGEHR – IA 2010 Fall Ringers’ Workshop with John Behnke!

You and your ringers are invited to the 2010 AGEHR - IA Fall Ringers' Workshop on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines, IA, with John Behnke! Come one, come all to this important skill-building event, and enjoy one of the most important benefits of being a member of AGEHR! The American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, and the Iowa Chapter hope to provide you with events that allow you to grow in your handbell artistry. We hope that you will Perform, that we will Organize excellent events, that you will be Educated, that you will find Mentors, and that you will have time to Socialize with handbell colleagues! AGEHR - IA is all about POEMS!

9:00 - registration/load-in
9:15 - welcome and stretching
9:30 - 10:30 - class #1 - Basic ringing techniques - Level 1 and 2, using the new AGEHR Notation Booklet; breakout sessions with local master teachers
10:30 - break - visit the VENDORS!
10:45 - 12:00 - class #2 - Reading session of AGEHR music and rehearsal methods, "maximizing your time"
12:00 - 1:00 - lunch - provided by our hosts at Grace Lutheran Church
1:00 - 2:30 - class #3 - Advanced techniques and Musicianship - Level 2+ and up, more with the AGEHR Notation Booklet; breakout sessions with local master teachers
2:30 - 3:00 - mini concert by Grace Bells, Rich Dewein, director

But wait! There's more!!!

John Behnke and the Grace Bells will present an organ recital and hymn festival on FRIDAY, October 8, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Come enjoy this event and whet your appetite for Saturday's workshop! This would be a wonderful opportunity for fellowship with your choir! Enjoy a dinner out, and perhaps stay over in one of Des Moines' many hotels!
